El otro dia recibimos la visita del director de Infoblox en España que nos estuvo presentando las soluciones de esta compañía en el ámbito de IPAM en entornos Microsoft (aunque también disponen de este tipo de soluciones para entornos 'abiertos' tipo ISP). De sobra conocida es esta compañía por las soluciones de DNS basadas en anycast y gestión de servicios 'core' en la Internet como NTP, DHCP y DNS. [otro dia hablamos del anycast DNS, que tiene por si mismo entidad y cuerda para rato]El famoso investigador y divulgador técnico sobre DNS, Cricket Liu, autor "DNS & BIND" (ya va por la quinta edición!) trabaja en Infoblox y tiene la mejor herramienta on-line y gratuita que yo conozco. Se trata de DNS Advisor. http://www.infoblox.com/services/dns_advisor.cfm.
Es muy sencilla. Únicamente hay que registrarse con una dirección válida de e-mail y conviene estar autorizado por los administradores del DNS de la zona a inspeccionar para realizar el sondeo. Tras la auditoría os apareceran todos los fallos de configuración que podrían implicar problemas de seguridad en la infraestructura de DNS de vuestras zonas y además os indicará de forma meridianamente clara como solucionar estos problemas, siempre que utiliceis BIND, claro.
También Infoblox dispone de herramientas de auditoría de DNS internos gratuita para un número determinado de nodos y herramientas IPAM, como:

Otra herramienta tremendamente util, que uso desde hace años es el DIG on line de men & mice. Lo único que hace es una query DNS desde los host de men & mice contra cualquier servidor de DNS usando el comando DiG.
